If any of you have visited a Chinese public toilet youll have seen what life would be like without our beloved door. It is a blatantly obvious thing to say but we all use doors every day. Most of the time we dont give them a thought, until theyre locked or they start to make teeth tingling sounds, like high pitched squeaking. Most of us literally take for granted the things we called doors, but can you imagine living just one day of our lives with no doors? It would be quite obvious how important doors are as soon as you used the bathroom, or even worse your mothers new boyfriend after a curry! Another item connected to doors that we often take for granted is the part we actually manipulate to open the door. Yes, door locks, knobs and handles are very a very important bit of kit. Many people care solely about their appearance, but how easy they are to use is vital. In many cases, especially in the workplace, people carry things through doors and need to be able to access rooms easily while doing so. Therefore the way one chooses the handles and doors for domestic use are far different compared to the buying factors for commercial door hardware. Not only do commercial doors need to be opened easily, with only your knees or a hip thrust if need be, they also need to be very secure. Levered Door Handles are not particularly aesthetic, but they serve a purpose and are simple in their construction and rarely cause confusion for their use. on the other hand door handles, are far easier on the eye and have offered the opportunity for many designers to sink their teeth into. But unfortunately, they are much more likely to either cause confusion as to how they function, or trouble in their usage. It truly rests on who is choosing the door hardware and for which purpose the door will serve. In modern times, we are fortunate to have the options available to us. Many years ago, there were little, if any choices. Ancient door hardware was very simple, yet often elegant. To add to this, the security was also far less efficient. In many cultures, it is fashionable to make or actually have antique furniture and other accessories in your home. With ornate items, this is as simple as either purchasing a genuine antique or copying an old design. On the other hand, if one wants a door that looks decades old or more, and cant or doesnt want to, alter a real antique the whole unit will have to be designed carefully from scratch. Indeed, that will also involve some counsel with those who are familiar in the design of buildings and anything structural. What looks nice may not be structurally safe or efficient to use. The proper design and manufacture of an architectural door isnt a a simple process and something that should be done by professionals. However, professionals are completely proficient and can produce good-quality products which both look nice and work well, while ensure security.
